Manufacturing returns to the UK with Wharfedale’s latest Heritage reimagining, Dovedale – an audiophile love letter to the discerning music lover from Comeau’s inner teen. And, almost half a century later, from Wharfedale’s upgraded Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire facility, Comeau reengineers and reimagines this iconic loudspeaker for the modern listener.

BESPOKE BRITISH LOUDSPEAKERS

Dovedale is a three-way bass reflex loudspeaker featuring woven Kevlar bass and midrange drivers 10" (250mm) & 5" (135mm) in conjunction with a 1" (25mm) fabric dome treble driver. With hand-veneered true timber finishes and complimentary speakers stands, Dovedale is a bespoke British loudspeaker.

BEST OF BRITISH AUDIO

Wharfedale’s expanded Cambridgeshire facility saw Dovedale become its first Made in Britain loudspeaker in years. An all-new 9000 square ft. production facility, including a new anechoic chamber, was added to the original R&D headquarters to offer discerning listeners the absolute best of British audio.

TAKE MY BREATH AWAY

A 25mm fabric dome treble unit with ceramic magnet is further enhanced by a damped rear chamber, reducing resonant treble frequency well below the crossover point. The net result is highly detailed yet beautifully smooth high frequency performance that’ll steal your breath away.

THE CHARACTER OF CRAFTSMANSHIP

Real timber finishes, hand-polished in a gorgeous satin lacquer, hide intelligent anti-resonant technology. A sandwich construction of varying timber composites, bonded by a layer of damping glue, cleverly controls cabinet vibration, giving you the truth from your favourite recordings, not the character of Dovedale’s cabinets.

EVERYTHING IN ITS RIGHT PLACE

Sophisticated computer modelling, hundreds of hours of listening, and the highest quality components ensure that Dovedale drivers fire in unison. The technical results are phase consistency and a linear frequency response, but all you hear is perfect harmony.

MOVED BY MIDRANGE

Music’s all-important midrange is beautifully expressed by Dovedale’s 5in (130mm) woven Kevlar driver housed in its own internal enclosure. Entirely isolated and unsullied from errant vibrations, vocalists and stringed instruments are in the room with you, delivering goosebump-inducing realism.

KEVLAR STRONG FOUNDATIONS

Dovedale’s 10in (250mm) bass driver incorporates the strength and stiffness of woven Kevlar to not only reach deep into your favourite tracks (25Hz deep), but to retrieve their finest layers of resolution, laying the foundation upon which only the highest quality sound is built.
