Wharfedale is the British heavyweight champion of value-for-money loudspeakers. Every single component, from woofer cone to cabinet, is both designed and built in-house. This creates unparalleled quality control while maintaining the lowest possible price. And with a range that extends from entry-level to extreme luxury, Wharfedale has a specific loudspeaker to suit you – anywhere along your audio journey.

Surround speakers are about ensuring you never again pay a fortune for a night out at the movies. Why take out a loan for choc tops? A great surround speaker will have an Ethan Hunt halo jump over Paris at 30,000 ft shake the ice cubes in your G&T, which, wonderfully, you can pause to refill.

STOPS ON A DIME

Nova’s 80V peak output capability ensures sudden explosions stop as fast as they start, leaving delicate surrounding textures untouched. A cool-running Class-D engine delivers instant, unyielding power to the woofer without thermal throttle or dynamic compression, so quiet micro-details shine through.

NOVA 12 SUBWOOFER

Combining a 12" (300mm) long-throw driver with a 12" (300mm) passive radiator, this high-output subwoofer extends down to 28Hz to generate substantial dynamic depth and low-frequency weight. Driven by a robust 280W Class-D amplifier (770W peak), NOVA 12 delivers explosive cinema impacts and expressive musical texture, anchoring larger spaces with poise and confidence.

FEEL THE THUNDER

Formulated with a proprietary stiffness coating, Nova’s lightweight paper diaphragm resists flex and cone break-up under high excursion. This engineered composure protects the driver’s natural acoustic tone to preserve a flawless, natural clarity even during thunderous bass drops.

BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

Nova bridges the gap between explosive movie theater thunder and intimate musical detail. Its engineered long-throw driver and high-excursion motor maintain absolute cone composure under extreme loads, so you get both floor-shaking cinematic impact and the articulate realism required for bass instruments.

DSP: DOWNRIGHT SONIC PERFECTION

Nova’s intelligent DSP continuously adjusts frequency response to match human hearing at low and loud levels. So, you get richer bass extension during quiet, late-night listening sessions, and clean, uncompressed power when it’s time to crank the volume.

CALM UNDER PRESSURE

Weak cabinet walls flex under pressure, colouring your music with muddy low end. Nova’s heavy matrix of internal bracing mutes distortive cabinet vibrations. So you get tight, accurate low-frequency reproduction, not the boomy cabinet buzz of a rattled subwoofer.

SLAYING THE ONE-NOTE DRONE

Unchecked magnetic distortion is the enemy of rhythm, turning complex basslines into a muddy, one-note drone. Nova’s aluminium shorting rings sit inside its motor structure to lock the magnetic field in place, slaying inductance modulation so you’re always on the beat.

COOL CALM COLLECTED

Cinematic swells retain their full dynamic power over hours of playback thanks to a large-diameter voice coil that maximises surface area for superior heat dissipation—even during intense, high-output listening. So, it’s out with thermal compression and in with delicate low-level detail.

YOU'LL BE CHUFFED. NOT NOVA

Nova’s down-firing, dual-suspension ABR extends low-end frequencies efficiently without relying on cabinet ports. This portless synergy combines the precision of a sealed enclosure with the scale of a ported design, delivering visceral impact, absolute speed, and ZERO chuffing.

VANISHING ACT

Onboard crossover, phase, and level controls let you calibrate Nova to your specific speakers and room acoustics. By locking in phase alignment and volume matching, Nova vanishes seamlessly into your system. So, you get the full-range listening experience from a unified soundstage.
