Founded in the 1970s as a company dedicated to acoustic innovation, Mission quickly established itself as a leading loudspeaker manufacturer with models like the iconic Mission 700 – the first of its kind to introduce inverted bass & treble arrangements. Today, Mission very cleverly fuses Hi-Fi heritage with contemporary design to deliver on its mantra: music is the master, technology is the slave.

The growing range of HiRes music services makes streaming an audiophile must-have. Wireless Audio Streaming Players allow you to play wireless HiRes music from both music streaming services and NAS drives using your existing stereo system. It's wifi for your hifi.

THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL

Enjoy intuitive, glitch-free streaming with richer tone and a more lifelike musical flow thanks to a custom Silent Angel engine. Optimised by Mission for superior fidelity and responsiveness, 778S delivers smoother navigation, faster operation, and consistently reliable performance across every streaming service.

MISSION 778S

A compact high-end streamer built around the Silent Angel engine, ESS ES9038Q2M DAC and precision upsampling. With native Connect support, high-resolution playback to DSD512/PCM768 and balanced XLR output, 778S transforms everyday streaming into a richer, cleaner, unmistakably musical experience.

CAN'T FAULT CONNECT

High-resolution streaming has too long been trapped behind clunky third-party apps. 778S slays that dragon with native Connect support for Qobuz, Tidal, Spotify and AirPlay 2. Now you can browse within your favourite service, navigating instinctively and playing HiRes music with absolute ease.

PERFORMANCES NOT JUST PLAYBACK

Transform your digital tunes into performances with real presence and emotional immediacy thanks to an ESS ES9038Q2M Reference DAC. Its 32-bit HyperStream design and jitter-elimination architecture reveals more texture, more depth, and more dynamic contrast from your favourite streamed albums and artists.

UPSAMPLED. UPSCALED.

Experience wider soundstage, cleaner transients, and smoother musical lines through intelligent internal upsampling that pushes digital artefacts beyond hearing. But should you prefer a straight-through signal, upsampling can be disabled entirely to offer bit-perfect playback while preserving 778S’s exceptional clarity, separation, and natural warmth across all resolutions.

MUSIC MAKING

High-rate digital audio makes your system feel less like electronics and more like musical instruments. With full support for DSD512 and 768kHz PCM, 778S preserves more natural transients and more believable timbre. In short, you get recordings that sound more real.

SKY'S THE LIMIT

Unlock deeper dynamics and lifelike musical realism with balanced XLR output. By combining a high-end ESS DAC, full DSD compatibility and a Class A analogue output stage, 778S delivers the highest-fidelity signal straight to your amplifier—bypassing SPDIF’s restrictive sample-rate limitations for uncompromised performance.

FOR YOUR EARS ONLY

Want to be alone with your music? 778S’s dedicated headphone amp (an uncommon luxury in a network player) lets you stream silently. Its refined output stage delivers clean power, low distortion and precise control, keeping every detail alive while the rest of the house sleeps.

READY FOR ROON?

Roon software is the pinnacle of audiophile digital music streaming, consolidating all your stored digital music files and music streaming platforms into a single, searchable interface that offers bit-perfect resolution for HiRes wireless multi-room playback. And 778S is Roon Ready.

CONNECTED & COMPATIBLE

From lossless FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF and full-fat DSD to everyday MP3 and AAC, 778S plays practically anything. And with balanced XLR, RCA, USB Audio, Optical and Coaxial outputs, you choose how to send the cleanest, purest signal into your system.
