Founded in the 1970s as a company dedicated to acoustic innovation, Mission quickly established itself as a leading loudspeaker manufacturer with models like the iconic Mission 700 – the first of its kind to introduce inverted bass & treble arrangements. Today, Mission very cleverly fuses Hi-Fi heritage with contemporary design to deliver on its mantra: music is the master, technology is the slave.

CD Transports don’t include DACs (Digital to Analogue Converter), requiring either an amplifier with inbuilt DAC or a seperate DAC component within your system. Because DAC quality varies significantly, Transports are a versatile choice allowing you to customise, upgrade and evolve your sound quality over time.

SMALL FORM. BIG LISTEN.

Don’t your mighty compact discs deserve a mighty, compact transport built with purpose? 778CDT delivers the full weight, colour, and clarity of your prized music collection by distilling playback to its pure essentials: precision clocking, low noise architecture, and a transport engineered for truth.

MISSION 778CDT

A dedicated CD transport featuring Mission’s custom mechanism, refined servo architecture and ultra-low-jitter TCXO master clock. With isolated low-noise power regulation and coaxial/optical SPDIF outputs, 778CDT delivers bit-perfect extraction and pristine digital output for serious disc enthusiasts.

LIMITLESS. DAC-LESS

Enjoy unlimited audio output potential with a DAC-less design. Built solely for removing onboard DAC-related noise and simplifying the signal path, 778CDT focuses exclusively on bit-perfect extraction to deliver cleaner, more stable data to your external DAC/amplifier.

ENGINEERED TO BE INTIMATE

Forget data and disc read errors thanks to a Mission-engineered CD mech that maintains stable rotation, accurate tracking, and exceptionally low mechanical noise. And with a premium, low-friction loading tray, each play feels like an extension of you.

A COMPACT DISC PLAYER

Build a compact, beautifully unified system that won’t compromise your music quality thanks to 778CDT. With the same footprint, finish and control logic of Mission’s integrated amplifier, 778X, you can create a space-efficient ecosystem that’s both cohesive and seriously cool.

CRYSTAL CLARITY

Revel in greater dynamics, spatial focus, and overall improved sonic transparency thanks to 778CDT’s temperature-compensated crystal oscillator. Serving as the master clock, it dramatically reduces jitter that blurs both timing and imaging to deliver a pristine SPDIF output to your DAC.

YOU BLOODY RIPPER

Access your ripped CD collection without losing the sound you love. 778CDT’s USB-HDD playback accommodates lossless FLAC, WAV, MP3, WMA and APE files with the same low-noise, precision-clocked architecture used for discs, ensuring your entire digital library retains true CD-grade clarity and stability.

KEEPING THE FAITH

Ensure your playback remains faithful to the original source with 778CDT’s refined servo architecture. Dedicated low-noise power supplies isolate key functions (laser, decoder, and master clock) to prevent circuit level interference, preserving signal purity for a cleaner, more stable digital output.

CLEAR CONNECTIONS

Integrate 778CDT seamlessly into your system with stable, noise-resistant coaxial and optical SPDIF outputs. Whether feeding 778X or a standalone DAC, these connections ensure a clean digital handoff for consistent clarity and effortless system compatibility.
