Wharfedale is the British heavyweight champion of value-for-money loudspeakers. Every single component, from woofer cone to cabinet, is both designed and built in-house. This creates unparalleled quality control while maintaining the lowest possible price. And with a range that extends from entry-level to extreme luxury, Wharfedale has a specific loudspeaker to suit you – anywhere along your audio journey.

Bookshelf speakers are often cited for being affordable, compact, and efficient. So, they’re cost effective, easy to position and require less amp power – making them a highly attractive option. While they don’t produce the same presence as floorstanding speakers, they’re often thought to produce better imaging properties.

OLD HABITS DIE HARD

Wharfedale’s long-been in the business of giving you more speaker than you pay for. So, presented with the task of taking on the luxury audio market, they just couldn’t help themselves. They had to give you more – a lot more.

MORE OF EVERYTHING – EXCEPT PRICE

Over three years of research and development deliver audio par excellence. Elysian is a luxury listening experience. But, in true Wharfedale fashion, they’re decimating the competition on quality delivered for the dollars you put down.

ELYSIAN 1 . PRINCE OF THE PRIDE

This 2-way luxury bookshelf loudspeaker includes a massive 27 x 90mm AMT driver and a 7” (180mm) coated fibre glass mid/bass cone. This makes Elysian 1 the cub sized prince of the pride for small to medium sized listening spaces.

REACHING WHAT OTHERS CAN’T

AMT (Air Motion Transformer) technology is a radical new approach to high-frequency reproduction. Highly musical with naturally low distortion, AMT plumbs the depths of your favourite tracks to recover detail other speakers left far behind.

CROSSOVER TO PURE HARMONY

Sophisticated computer modelling, hundreds of hours of listening, and the highest quality components ensure that Elysian drivers fire in unison. The technical results are phase consistency and a linear frequency response, but all you hear is perfect harmony.

PLUMBING THE DEPTHS

180mm glass-fibre matrix cones, driven by specially developed low-distortion motor systems, reach down below 49Hz. Elysian plumbs the depths of music’s lowest frequencies, revealing to you the full-body impact of percussion, stringed and wind instruments.

THE DEVIL IN THE DETAILS

Luxury audio is about the little touches. After all, you’re not simply buying a new pair of speakers; you’re purchasing part of a legacy. So, from your sound quality right down to your speaker accessories, Elysian delivers everything with the finest attention to detail.

CABINETS MADE FROM PROS

By veneering timbers of different density into a unique sandwich construction named PROS (Panel Resonance Optimisation System), Elysian reduces panel resonance below audibility. Serious audiophiles demand the truth from their favourite recordings, not the signature of their speakers.

GRAND PIANO PRESENCE

Handcrafted veneers are expertly finished in true piano lacquer, hand-polished to six levels of depth before ever being considered for display in your home. So not only does Elysian deliver the musical presence of a grand piano; it makes the same luxury statement.
