Wharfedale is the British heavyweight champion of value-for-money loudspeakers. Every single component, from woofer cone to cabinet, is both designed and built in-house. This creates unparalleled quality control while maintaining the lowest possible price. And with a range that extends from entry-level to extreme luxury, Wharfedale has a specific loudspeaker to suit you – anywhere along your audio journey.

Vertical surround sound speakers correspond to the third number in surround sound configurations like 5.1.2 or 7.2.4 systems. These sound sources are positioned above your loudspeakers, either as separate satellites or upward-firing drivers that bounce sound off your ceiling. This creates a domed surround sound effect, helping to create an even more immersive theatre experience.

RETURN OF A MODERN CLASSIC

Diamond 12i isn’t reinvention; it’s a reaffirmation. Every line, finish, and frequency curve speaks of refinement. Familiar, yet freshly alive, it captures the warmth, rhythm, and realism that made the original so beloved, now presented with greater poise and contemporary grace.

DIAMOND 12.3Di

This compact 2-way Dolby Atmos loudspeaker features a 25 mm textile dome tweeter and 100 mm Klarity™ driver for seamless tonal integration with the Diamond 12i range. Designed for wall or ceiling mounting—or to sit atop floorstanders—12.3Di expands immersion with height, depth, and precision.

BACK IN MATTE

Three luxurious matte finishes—All-Black, Classic Walnut, and Stone Grey—give this Diamond rebirth a distinctly contemporary edge. Each surface wears a refined semi-matte sheen, an elegant, modern alternative to gloss that feels perfectly attuned to today’s interior design sensibilities.

MULTI-MOUNT VERSATILITY

Diamond 12.3Di integrates effortlessly into 5.1, 7.1, or 9.1.2 systems. Its flexible mounting system supports wall, ceiling, or on-speaker placement, giving installers freedom to optimise height-channel performance while maintaining perfect aesthetic alignment across the Diamond 12i family.

CROSSOVER TO THE 12i SIDE

A Linkwitz-Riley crossover with air-core inductors (rare at this price) delivers seamless driver integration. Tuned for phase accuracy and tonal coherence, it preserves image stability and harmonic balance—as well as producing fast, articulate bass. It’s high-end thinking for low-frequency brilliance.

BRACE FOR IMPACT

Surround effects demand structure. Diamond 12.3Di’s cabinet bracing and dense enclosure construction suppress vibration, preserving spatial accuracy and dynamic punch. Explosions hit harder, atmospheres feel larger, and the entire soundstage remains locked in focus—anchoring cinematic impact with composure and control.

AXIS OF DETAIL

A finely woven polyester dome with high-loss damping coating ensures treble that is extended yet never harsh. Its acoustically flat front plate maintains broad, even dispersion—filling rooms with sparkling detail and natural air without losing tonal balance off-axis.

STILL CALLED KLARITY

The same proven polypropylene–mica blend returns, refined for precision. Rigid yet lightweight, each Klarity™ cone delivers low colouration and lightning-fast response, capturing transients with natural authority so that Diamond 12i continues to play hard, handle high power, and perform flawlessly.

DIAMOND REMAINS MAGNETIC

Precision-engineered magnet systems use aluminium compensation rings and glass-fibre voice-coil bobbins to maintain stability under pressure. By curbing distortion and intermodulation, Diamond 12i keeps the rhythm tight, the tone pure, and every performance beautifully in sync.

EVOLUTION BY DESIGN

Born of Karl-Heinz Fink’s landmark design and refined by Peter Comeau’s acoustic team, Diamond 12i celebrates continuity over outright change. Every detail—re-voiced, re-tuned, re-evaluated—shows that progress isn’t always achieved through reinvention, but in the pursuit of perfect balance.
