Founded in the UK in the early 80s, Audiolab has earned world-wide acclaim for its combination of functional elegance and superior audio quality. With countless awards, as well as being the reference amplifier for Britain’s What Hi-fi? review team, Audiolab has established itself as one of Britain's leading audio electronics manufacturers.

A phono preamplifier boosts the microscopic signal from your stylus so your main amplifier can actually play it. Dedicated phono preamps are an audiophile preference because they isolate delicate analog signals from noisy internal amp electronics. Less electrical interference means a quieter background—noise that would otherwise mask subtle details. That means cleaner sound, and the flexibility to upgrade to sensitive MC cartridges later.

THE FULL PICTURE

If you’re still relying on built-in phono stages from turntables or integrated amplifiers, you’re only hearing half the picture. PPA7 bridges the gap between purist audiophile performance and modern versatility to serve up inky-black silence, effortless dynamic punch, and crystalline high-frequency detail from every record you play. Oh, and there’s a few mod cons thrown in as well.

PPA7 PHONO PREAMPLIFIER

PPA7 is a phono preamplifier featuring MM and MC inputs, selectable loading and capacitance options, and a built-in headphone amplifier. Equipped with Bluetooth 5.3 with aptX HD, USB-C vinyl archiving, and a remote-controlled OLED display, PPA7 is an exceptionally versatile modern analogue hub.

FOR DEVOUT WAXHEADS

Digitising bootlegs or rare pressings is a time-honoured tradition for serious vinyl fanatics. With a USB output to plug straight into your Mac or PC, the PPA7 delivers studio-grade transfers up to 24-bit/192kHz. Plus, with -12dB to +3dB adjustable record gain, tame hot pressings or boost quieter ones to capture the perfect file, every time.

INKY BLACK WAX

Low-level micro-details, subtle room decay, and faint acoustic reverberations emerge out of complete darkness thanks to PPA7’s Regulated Symmetrical Power Architecture. Converting 12V DC into regulated ±8.5V rails via separate buck and inverter stages kills underlying hum, hiss, and electrical noise.

MOVED BY MAGNETS OR COILS

With dedicated support for both Moving Magnet and Moving Coil cartridges, PPA7 supports everything from serious high-output designs to high-performance low-output killers. So, as your system demands grow, the depth of PPA7’s musical resolution can expand with it.

THE LITTLE TOUCHES

Enjoy immediate visual feedback and easy adjustment thanks to PPA7’s OLED display and remote. Whether dialing in cartridge loading, setting USB record gain, or adjusting headphone volume, remote operation replaces traditional DIP switches and dials with a modern, intuitive approach to vinyl tuning.

CONVENIENT CONFIGURATION

Unlock natural, extended high frequencies with the ideal balance of openness, body, and dynamic punch. With selectable MM capacitance (100pF/200pF) and MC loading (100R/330R), PPA7 delivers the precise electrical matching to eliminate harsh glare and dullness, giving you total control.

PRIVATE PRESSING SESSIONS

PPA7’s integrated current-feedback headphone amplifier lets you immerse yourself in those late-night listening sessions without ever waking up the house—or the neighbours. Drive a vast range of serious headphones with fast dynamics and low distortion, without needing a single additional component.

NEEDN'T REQUIRE WIRES

Inbuilt Bluetooth with aptX HD isn’t about replacing your wired setup; it’s about the convenience of optional wireless connectivity, for compatible headphones or speakers, without ever sacrificing sound quality. Now those intimate, late-night listening sessions needn’t require wires!

ULTIMATE CARTRIDGE HANDSHAKE

Built-in phono stages are often the bottleneck in vinyl setups. The PPA7 provides a purpose-built analogue amplification and equalisation stage that dramatically lowers noise while restoring musical clarity and accurate tonal balance, letting you hear every detail your turntable is capable of revealing.
